Prof Desai and Tikoo’s relationship began at IIT when the latter guided Tikoo in his final-year project based on EDA. Tikoo’s project at his next academic institution – London School Economics and Political Science – was also based on EDA. The company started out within the campus of IIT Bombay in 1999 as a concept, when Texas Instruments funded it as a university project.
