Powai Labs was founded on the banks of Powai Lake, within the IIT Bombay campus. Powai Labs is an entity focused on innovation in the electronics system design & electronics design automation. Its technology is improving the working conditions of electronics design engineers by addressing their pain level issues, in a most cost effective manner; focusing on price, quality and innovation.

It is a pioneering collaboration of Industry, Academia & Government; and the first indigenous EDA and first indigenous processor company in India; and is rated as the next big thing coming out of India. Starting as a Texas Instruments university funded research program at IIT Bombay in 1999, it went on to be incubated by IIT Bombay for commercialization. IIT Bombay much later started the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE). IIT Bombay now holds equity in Powai Labs through SINE.

Its Simulation Accelerator product, IMAGE is globally the best in price-performance.  IMAGE is a high quality, affordable and robust price-performance Simulation Accelerator.  IMAGE is also available in a range of models for Industry, Research Labs and Higher Technical Education & Research.

Its Processor IP Core, AJIT is proven on silicon and is licenced to a number of System on Chip, products. Powai Labs works very closely with the client team building the System on Chip using AJIT; from Prototype to ASIC. AJIT licence is also available in a range of models for Industry, Research Labs and Higher Technical Education & Research.
